Last week CITRA team members, Dr. Felix Santiago-Collazo and Orlando Viloria, presented their research work at the prestigious 4th International Workshop on Waves, Storm Surges, & Coastal Hazards. This workshop was held in Santander, Spain, at the University of Cantabria.
Orlando presented his work, supported by CARICOOS, on compound flooding in Puerto Rico, while Dr. Santiago-Collazo presented his work on the fundamental concepts of compound flood modeling.
They also networked with new collaborators, enjoyed local cuisine (tapas and croquetas) with Dr. Bilskie from the COAST lab at UGA and Dr. Legna Torres from the USGS, and enjoyed the great views of the northern Spain coast.
