Luciana Iannone Tarcha

Luciana is a Graduate Research Assistant at the School of Environmental, Civil, Agriculture and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Georgia. She is a Civil Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Sao Paulo State University (Unesp), in Brazil. She has practical experience with hydrological studies and urban hydraulic project design from her years working as a Civil Engineer. As a PhD student and research assistant under Dr. Felix Santiago-Collazo’s direction, her interests include Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applied to hydrological modeling, coastal and riverine, compound flood, and nature-based infrastructure solutions. Her goal is to understand, innovate and apply Flood Resilience Solutions in an efficient and accessible way. Luciana enjoys reading classic novels, handicraft activities, classic rock and spending time with her husband and her dachshund.
